My story is about a massive storm, a natural disaster, which took place in south tyrol right before the project had started. I went into the mountains and captured the massive acres of destroyed forest.

After a long research and experimentation process i decided to combine my photography with thermochromic color. It is a color reacting to temperatures, turning from black to completly transparent around 25 degrees celcius and chaning to black again when it gets colder.
I first wanted to use the technique of screen printing, but out of financial terms i decided to go with a colored foile instead which is then cut buy a plotter.

The shapes cut should symbolize the tree which have been there before. When a person puts there hand on that tree, it vanishes and reveales the catastrophy.

The question I want to turn the attention to is: Are natural disasters like this man-made? Is it us?
